Handmade Guardian Angel Necklaces and Charms

Handmade Guardian Angel Necklaces and Charms
Everyone could use a guardian angel for a little extra protection looking over them. This handmade angel is created with a pretty ruffled skirt and golden apron, golden wings and a halo to match.

This little guardian angel charm comes in a variety of colors too. From blue to red, white and yellow as well as pink and green. They can even be made in silver instead of gold.

I've designed them as both
guardian angel earrings or guardian angel necklaces and also as decorative little charms that can be attached to a cell phone, purse charm, key ring or even set to dangle from the rear view mirror of a car.

Dancing Leaves Handmade Duster Earrings

Dancing Leaves Handmade Duster Earrings
I love incorporating a touch of vintage into my creations. When you shop for vintage supplies, you find a lot of unusual pieces and bits, sometimes with beautiful craftsmanship that is lacking in commercial supplies today.

These handmade duster earrings are designed with inky leaves that dance merrily at the ends and vintage golden links just above them. Little lampwork beads with tiny rosebuds caught inside and a touch of pink then both accent and finish off the set of dancing leaf dangle earrings.

Carefully shaped by hand and turned with care for a smooth, seamless wooden loop, this handmade wooden bangle bracelet was sanded smooth then stained a rich, dark walnut color. The piece was then wrapped in silky nylon, creating a splash of bright color against the dark wood.

Blue Chalcedony Earrings with a touch of Silver

Gemstone Earrings in Blue Chalcedony and Silver
Whether in shades of aqua or blue, chalcedony is without a doubt one of my absolute favorite gemstones to work with. The vibrant, gentle color that these stones give off has a kind of stand-alone beauty and elegance that is both eye-catching and wonderful to create new pieces of jewelry with. The stones also, of course, come in a variety of other colors including lavender, white, buff, light tan, gray, yellow, pink, red or brown, but it seems that I'm always drawn strongest to the blue and aqua shades of this particular stone.

In the handmade gemstone earrings pictured above, I've used a pair of vibrant yet calming blue chalcedony beads to display that stand-alone elegance I'm so drawn to. Designed with silver wire for a touch of cool shimmer, these blue chalcedony earrings are both fun and elegant at the same time.

Tuscany in Autumn Beaded Eyeglass Holder

Tuscany in Autumn Beaded Eyeglass Holder
In most Mediterranean areas, olives are harvested in the months of November, December and January. In Tuscany however, they have a cooler climate due to valleys that are often visited by early frosts. For this reason, in Tuscany the harvest can begin as early as the end of September.

Unlike many of the surrounding areas, in Tuscans that an olive that falls to the ground is worthy of being pressed for the oil that they're harvested for. For that reason, in this area of Italy, olives are still picked by hand.

This beaded eyeglass holder is titled "Tuscany in Autumn" because it's creation was inspired by the Tuscan olive harvest. Beaded with rich, olive green beads on a strand of black, the eyeglass chain has just enough shimmer to catch the eye but not so much that it can't be worn as an understated accent.

Like all of my handmade eyeglass holders, this piece is perfect for leashing in those runaway reading glasses that keep getting lost.

Oh Christmas Tree Beaded Bookmark

Oh Christmas Tree Beaded Bookmark
Christmas is almost here!!

I'm one of those people that loves the holidays. I don't always decorate... in fact, I don't always celebrate, at least not in the traditional sense, but I love the holidays all the same. There's so much pretty out there at this time of year. Sparkle and shine and color. Not to mention the music!

Not only that but it's one of the only holidays that challenges the conventional color schemes to come up with something different for a few weeks out of the year. As a part of my holiday regimen, I love creating new and different Christmas ornaments and decorations. Each year I sit down and make something new, and sometimes I pull others into the fun as well such as friends and neighbors.

This is one of my creations from this year! A Christmas tree bookmark with shiny little bell and matching tassel all set to dangle from the tip of a silver plated steel shepherds hook bookmarker. I have to admit, it's one of my favorites!

Angelite Gemstone Bracelet in Lilac

Lilac Angelite Gemstone Bracelet in Silver and Pearls
This is the first time that I've ever worked with angelite gemstones, and I have to admit that I really enjoyed the feel of the stones as well as the project that gave birth to this, now finished, angelite gemstone bracelet.

Made from a large central angelite stone that has been combined with matching glass beads, white glass pearls and a multitude of little silver plated charms, this handmade wrist cuff is a unique, one of a kind piece that's then been finished off with a matching toggle clasp.

Angelite is considered to be a symbol of the verbalization and communication of love and light to the world. It represents peace to the world and the "brotherhood both within and without.

It is believed, metaphysically, to be a stone for raising the state of conscious awareness and for the promotion of clear and orderly communication while dispelling anger and renewing one's connected-ness to the universe while helping to promote one's creative endeavors.

Harvest Goddess Pagan Necklace in Jade and Pewter

Harvest Goddess Pagan Necklace in Jade and Pewter
When I saw the Harvest Goddess pendant that I've incorporated into this piece, I knew exactly what I wanted to use her for. In fact, in my mind, I already had the beads and gemstones picked out and was ready to create long before I had finished buying supplies to create the piece!

This handmade Harvest Goddess necklace designed in the style of a traditional rosary but with a Pagan theme, this necklace is a celebration of the cycles of life and the wheel of the year in the Pagan calendar.

Five sections of eight jade gemstone beads make up the body of this necklace, each section of eight a count of the year's eight Pagan holidays. In between each section are wooden beads meant to represent each season. This makes this Pagan themed necklace not just a piece of jewelry meant to be worn and treasured but also able to be used as a meditational guide.

Caribbean Surf Handmade Eyeglass Chain

I've used these beads to create a handmade eyeglass chain titled "Caribbean Surf", because the colors remind me of the blue skies and colorful sea of the Caribbean. The lampwork beads have been combined with other glass bead accents in matching colors all strung together on a strand of white. This eyeglass chain is perfect for leashing in those runaway reading glasses that always seem to get lost when not perched on one's nose.

Rosary Bracelet in Bone - Sacred Vow

Rosary Bracelet in Bone - Sacred Vow
When I started making rosaries, my first one was made in glass. And, although it was beautiful and shimmered and was a favorite of many, my mother's first question when she saw it was... "have you made any in natural beads yet?"

This question was what inspired the Sacred Vow rosary bracelet seen here. Made from beads of bone, this bracelet is simplistic and beautiful in gold tones with black bone beads for the aves and a larger white bone bead for the pater near the clasp. The handmade chaplet bracelet comes with a full-color saint charm attached near the pater bead and a delicate brass cross as well as handmade infinity links between each bead.

I've also designed a full sized rosary and a smaller christian charm with this same theme.

Copper n White Delight Beaded Bookmark

Copper n White Delight Beaded Bookmark
Although it doesn't happen often, sometimes combining metals and textures can create some interesting results. In this bookmark I've combined the shimmer of silver with a touch of copper for a handmade beaded bookmark that's sure to become a well-loved classic.

Many people fold the pages in a book to mark their place when they're reading, but it's not really an ideal method because it permanently damages the pages that are folded. A beaded book thong bookmark is a terrific way to avoid that damage whether marking your place in a book, journal, date book or bible.

When I first saw these gemstones, I was at a gem show. I fell in love with them immediately, but it took me a long time to find them again! These stones are a form of amethyst called "lace amethyst" and they're a bit harder to come by than the normal darker colored amethyst most are used to seeing used in jewelry.

In this bracelet, these beautiful lace amethyst stones have been combined with silver plated charms and the soft glow of pearls to create a gemstone bracelet that's a perfect accent to the winter season. Named "Lilac Lace" this handmade amethyst bracelet measures at 8.85-inches (22.5 cm) in length and has a style to it that is versatile enough to be worn both casually or as an elegant accent.

Mother of Pearl Rosary Bracelet with a Hint of Green

Mother of Pearl Rosary Bracelet with a Hint of Green
I don't think that there's any other time that it's more important and significant to have a piece that's handmade than when considering a rosary or cherished religious piece of jewelry. Whether purchasing such a piece for yourself or for someone else, there's a certain amount of special significance that comes in knowing the piece you're buying is hand crafted instead of a commercial reproduction.

This mother of pearl rosary bracelet is one of those pieces. Each and every one of the links in this bracelet has been made by hand and every bead picked out and set in place with care. The entire piece is then brought together with a matching toggle clasp.

To add a touch of color to this rosary bracelet, the Pater bead and Saint's charm are both a rich spring green in color and the small cross charm that is included is designed in a combination of silver tones and white.

Hand Carved Beaded Butterfly Necklace

Hand Carved Beaded Butterfly Necklace
I'm not sure how many of my readers have ever used a Dremel tool before but let me assure you, there's just some jobs that little tool is wonderful for and hand-carving as well as shaping wooden beads definitely fits in this category.

The focal bead in this handmade necklace is a carefully fashioned wooden drum bead that's been stained a deep brick red then hand-carved with a beautiful little butterfly motif along its round curve. It was then joined by bamboo tube beads that have been stained a matching shade of red, small cream colored bone beads and a touch of golden accents for shimmer.

All brought together, this hand carved beaded butterfly necklace has a natural charm that's sure to make it a favorite to wear and has been designed with an extension chain at the nape so it can be worn tight like a choker or a bit more loose like a necklace.

Frosted Elixir Wire Wrapped Teardrop Earrings - Set of Seven

When I was in high school, I took a lot of art classes. I loved art. And after I'd exhausted my schools curriculum of art classes that they had available, my teacher "designed" a class just for me due to my enthusiasm under his tutelage.

In this class, he taught me how to etch glass. A skill that I retained and carried on with me into life after high school and even made a decent amount of money at as a side-business for a while. I'd travel to different people's homes and businesses and create hand-drawn designs for the windows, mirrors or sliding glass doors of their homes.

You would be amazed, even to this day, how much etching solution I have left over from this time in my past, and when I decided to design jewelry how useful that solution became again!

Now, instead of buying my beads for my jewelry already clouded, I cloud the glass myself! And that's what I did with each of the teardrops in this collection of earrings featured here today.

The Frosted Elixir earrings set is made from tiny glass teardrops that have each been carefully dipped in etching solution to create a satin sheen to their surface before being securely wrapped in gold tone wire and set to dangle from matching handmade earring hooks.

Each pair of these wire wrapped teardrop earrings is made to be delicate and light weight, making them easy to wear even on the most sensitive set of ears.

Not only are they offered as a set in gold, but also in silver as well as available individually. You can click this link to explore those options further.

End of the Rainbow Book Hook Bookmark

End of the Rainbow Book Hook Bookmark
Whether expressing Gay Pride, needing a reminder to help balance your Chakras or if you just love rainbows, this bookmark is cheerful and bright and perfect for catching the eye and stirring up a smile.

Man in the Blue Moon Beaded Charm - Versatility

Man in the Blue Moon Beaded Charm
I love versatility. I love making something that can be used over and over for many different things.

The decorative beaded charms that I design are one of these useful creations, too. Each one is designed to be used in any number of ways including (but certainly not limited to) as purse charms, rear view mirror charms for a car, zipper pulls, key chain, wallet charms, cell phone charms and more. In fact, I offer those that own my charms a variety of attachments, so when they buy them they can choose what kind of attachment will best fit their needs and ideas. I've even had customers request their charms be added to book hooks to turn them into bookmarks!

This handmade celestial beaded charm, titled "Man in the Blue Moon", with it's shiny blue glass beads and brass man in the moon smiling bat the end is one of my absolute favorites, too. Celestial themes have always been a joy of mine and I have to admit that when I made this one, I almost had to keep it for myself.

Tyrian Purple Beaded Badge Lanyard

The actual color of Tyrian purple (also known as Imperial purple), the original color purple from which the name purple is derived, is a color of a dye made from a mollusk. In classical antiquity, this color then became a symbol of royalty because only the very wealthy could afford it and was extremely popular throughout the time of the Roman Empire.

Today, purple continues to hold meaning as something royal and rich, and rich warm colors is what this beaded badge lanyard is all about.

Created in shades of Tyrian purple and plum, this beaded lanyard combines the richness of these historical shades with golden accents for warmth all strung on a creme colored strand that shows off both the rich colors and warmth with elegant aplomb.

Perfect for your badge, keys and more light-weight options, the nape of this 36-inch (91.5 cm) beaded lanyard is created to be smooth and comfortable against the back of the neck with decorative beads further down along the strand so they are shown off to their best advantage.

Beaded Butterfly Necklace of Wood and Pearls

Beaded Butterfly Necklace of Wood and Pearls
Butterflies and dragonflies both represent a change in one's life. Sometimes graceful, sometimes not, but change is important either way. It breathes fresh air into stale spaces and brings about new ideas and inspirations.

This beaded butterfly necklace is created with that theme in mind. Made with a handful of creamy pearls and wooden beads brought together on a strand of matching seed beads to accent the 2-inch circular pendant that dangles front and center. The pendant is made of wood and stained a rich brown color (also available in black) with a beautiful butterfly inlay set off-center on its surface in brushed silver tones.

The lobster claw clasp at the nape of this handmade necklace attaches to an extender chain that allows the length of this necklace to be adjustable between 17" - 19.25" (43 cm - 49 cm). This means it can be worn tight enough to be a choker or loose enough to lie comfortably against the chest while a small bead bauble at the end of the chain gives an extra bit of decorative touch at the nape.

Green Lampwork Glass Eyeglass Chain - Losing My Marbles in Green

Green Lampwork Glass Eyeglass Chain - Losing My Marbles in Green
I absolutely LOVE working with lampwork beads. I love the idea that someone has taken a piece of glass and with flame and craftsmanship, mounded that glass into a piece of art. This is must amazing to me.

The concept of eyeglass chains is that you attach the ends of the chain to your glasses and then wear your glasses around your neck like a necklace. This is an ideal solution for anyone who uses reading glasses, since reading glasses are donned then removed throughout the day and easily become misplaced or lost.

In this "Losing My Marbles" handmade eyeglass chain, I've taken some beautiful green lampwork marbles with tiny flecks of colors inside them and combined them with other matching beads in shades of seaweed green, golden accents and a touch of crisp white to create a stylish beaded eyeglass chain that has easily become one of my favorites.

This piece measures in at 30.5-inches (77.5 cm) from tip to tip.

Pastel Pearls and Silver Hoop Earrings - Handel in Spring

Pastel Pearls and Silver Hoop Earrings - Handel in Spring
George Frideric Handel was an amazing Baroque composer who is famous for his operas, oratorios and concerto music. He lived from 1685 to 1759 and was born in the same year as Johann Sebastian Bach and Domenico Scarlatti.

In his lifetime, and beyond it, Handel's works were well-known by many other composers, including Haydn, Mozart, and Beethoven.

His most famous piece, "Messiah" with its "Hallelujah" chorus, is among the most popular works in choral music and has become a centerpiece of the Christmas season. Another of his most popular works "Water Music" is used often during weddings and was the inspiration for these beaded hoop earrings.

Designed with silver plated hoops that support a grouping of softly shimmering pearls in white and pink joined with a touch of dusky green, these handmade pearl earrings are 1-inch (3 cm) in size and made with care to be light-weight on pierced ears with a delicate appearance. They are earrings are easy to put in and take out with a safety hook clasp so they won't fall out and get lost inconveniently.
